Kitchen Sink Salad – GF, DF, Corn-free
My version of a kitchen salad is a cross between a waldorf salad and a cobb salad. I really like the tart crunch of apple in an otherwise savory dish. I also like everything finely chopped so that you can get a taste of everything in each bite. This is my go-to lunch during the Summer. It’s easy to make, filling, and doesn’t heat up the kitchen. Let’s face it—not heating of any part of the house unnecessarily in a top priority in the South during the Summer.

Caramelized Onion Turkey Burger – GF, Corn-free
Turkey burgers are difficult to make as juicy as beef burgers. When America’s Test Kitchen did it, they tried to make a faux hamburger by adding lots of mushrooms and soy sauce.

Turkey Chili – A completely revamped old family recipe
Chili was an old family staple growing up. It’s so warm and comforting in the winter. When the temperature dips low enough to switch on the heater, my mind immediately goes to this recipe. To be clear, this is not “Texas-style” chili. My mom grew up in Michigan. This is probably more appropriately called a stew, but we call it chili in my family. So there!

Creole Sauce – My Wacky Reflux Reliever!
Whenever reflux is causing that burning sensation in my belly, I turn to my creole sauce. Weird, I know. I can only speculate that the mild spiciness that I use is just enough to create additional digestive juices to relieve the problem of low stomach acid. A friend of a friend uses Indian food for the same effect. However, I’m not making any medical promises here. I can only promise that it tastes gooooood!
